REVERSE MORTGAGES
You’ve built a home. Let’s talk about your options.
If you’re exploring a reverse mortgage, we can take the time to understand how it works, what it costs and what else might fit.
How it works
Products are generally designed for homeowners aged 55 or older, subject to lender eligibility, property and location requirements. The amount available depends on the product and the borrowers’ circumstances.
Understand the growing balance
Where regular principal and interest payments are not required, interest is added to the balance. This reduces remaining equity over time. Property taxes, insurance and maintenance obligations continue.
Review repayment events
Sale, moving out, the death of the last borrower or other contract events can trigger repayment. Read the actual agreement for default provisions, estate timelines and prepayment charges.
Compare alternatives and get advice
Downsizing, conventional financing, a secured line of credit or family arrangements may offer alternatives. Ontario requires the prescribed lawyer’s written statement confirming independent legal advice before a brokerage arranges a reverse mortgage.

You don’t need all the answers before we talk.
Tell me a little about what you have in mind. We’ll take it from there.
